## Server

FactryOS runs on a dedicated Linux server (physical or virtual), referred to as the MES server.

| Operating system | Ubuntu Server LTS (latest) | Server edition only, no desktop environment. CLI access is sufficient. |
| CPU              | 8 cores                    | Must be expandable                                                     |
| RAM              | 16 GB                      | Must be expandable                                                     |
| Root disk        | 50 GB                      | Must be expandable                                                     |

These are minimum values. Sizing depends on the number of lines, users and the data volume. Factry will advise on sizing during project preparation.

## User account

Factry installs and maintains FactryOS remotely over SSH. Provide the following:

- SSH login with sudo privileges enabled for this user
- Python 3 installed (included by default on Ubuntu Server)
