Before configuring LDAP authentication, ensure you meet these prerequisites to ensure a smooth and successful setup process.

## General Requirements for both Factry Historian and Grafana

To successfully setup LDAP authentication, the following requirements must be met:

1. Ability to retrieve the connection details such as
   - Host
   - BindUser DN and password
   - BaseDN
   - Search filter
   - Search base DNS
2. Connection from Factry Historian/Grafana to the LDAP server
   - Port 389 is allowed for LDAP without TLS
   - Port 636 is allowed for LDAPS with TLS

## Requirements for Factry Historian

Before starting, make sure you have [administrator privileges](docId\:K2NnYEcUxqQsiuCLmpfKH) in Factry Historian.

## Requirements for Grafana

Before starting, make sure you have:

- Server Admin permissions
- An installed Grafana version of v11.3.0 or higher
