Kepware is a connectivity platform developed by [PTC](https://www.ptc.com/en/products/kepware) that allows you to connect industrial automation systems and devices with software applications. It acts as a communication hub by bundling various proprietary industrial protocols (drivers) into a single, standardized interface. Through its support for the [OPC-UA](docId\:T4C6lBhu8wsXKbLvER-BE) standard, Kepware enables structured and secure data exchange between PLCs, sensors, SCADA systems, and external data platforms like Factry Historian.

Kepware is particularly useful in environments with legacy or mixed-brand PLCs, where building individual integrations for each vendor would be costly, error-prone and difficult to manage. Instead of setting up multiple OPC servers for different brands, Kepware lets you consolidate communication through a single OPC-UA endpoint. This saves time, reduces complexity, and offers robust monitoring and management tools.
