Managing alerts
the factry historian portal provides automatic alerting to help you stay informed about the health and availability of your historian installations these alerts are created automatically for each registered historian instance alerts notify you about common issues that can affect system stability, data availability, or licensing you can view and manage them directly from the portal alerts viewing alerts go to factry historian portal navigate to installations select you historian server from the list and click the eye icon on the right on this factry historian server's detail page, click alert configurations you can filter alerts by installation, severity, or status adding alerts click + add alert on the alert configurations overview complete the following fields name give the alert and clear name activation delay set how long the trigger should be active, before a notification is sent template select a message template from the dropdown list frequency set an alert frequency if the alert is still high after the frequency, the notification for it will be sent again escalate to factry after if the alert is still high after this duration, factry will get notified as well editing alerts for each alert in the alert configurations list, you can (from left to right) edit the alert configure notification channels (e g email, webhook) enable or disable the alert delete the alert silence the alert autocreated alerts for historian servers the following alerts are automatically enabled for every historian server no monitoring data received for > 5 minutes indicates that the historian has stopped sending monitoring data to the portal this may suggest connectivity issues or that the historian service is not running issue writing data to influx the historian was unable to write timeseries data to the influxdb backend cpu or memory usage > 80% the historian host is running under high load, which may impact performance disk usage > 85% the storage volume containing the historian data is nearing capacity free disk space < 5000 mb the historian host has less than 5 gb of available storage left license expiry in less than 30 days the historian license will expire soon contact factry support to renew before expiry to avoid downtime autocreated alerts for collectors no heartbeat for > 5 minutes the portal has stopped receiving heartbeat signals from the collector bad health the collector has reported an unhealthy state no data collection (while health = collecting) the collector reports it is active, but no data points are being collected more points with bad quality than with good quality a majority of collected points are of bad quality, suggesting a problem with the source or configuration cpu or memory usage > 80% the collector host is under high load, which may affect collection performance disk usage > 85% the storage volume containing collector data is nearing capacity free disk space < 5000 mb the collector host has less than 5 gb of available storage left
