To add an event property to an event type, click the `Add property` button.

1. Enter a unique name (uniqueness is defined per event type)
2. *Optionally enter a description*
3. Select a datatype
4. Choose a type for the event property
   - `simple`: a single aggregated value is returned for each event of the event type
   - `periodic`: a list of periodically aggregated values is returned for each event of the event type
5. *Optionally enter an UoM (Unit of Measure)*

The name of an event property can also not be the same as any of the columns in the generated event views.
