Measurements

Available when adding a measurement are the following fieldsets:

Description: The name of the measurement. Must be unique!

Description: A description of your measurement. (Optional)

Description: The collector this measurement belongs to. Selecting a collector might make more fields and settings appear.

Description: The database where this measurement's data will be stored. This might be prefilled if the selected collector has a default database.

Description: The type of this measurements data. Eg: string, number, boolean, etc..

The engineering specifications can be used to give more meaning the values and set limits on them. Furthermore, the Factry Historian Datasource plugin will automatically fetch these settings for labeling of axes, scaling, and configuring thresholds.

Description: The unit of measurement of this measurement. (Optional)

Description: The minimum expected value of the measurement. (Optional)

Description: The maximum expected value of the measurement. (Optional)

Description: The low threshold of the measurement. (Optional)

Description: The high threshold of the measurement (Optional)

Description: Tags will be stored for every data point written to the time series database. In most cases, we recommended using Labels instead.

Description: Metadata can be used to store additional information about the measurement, this information is not stored in the time series database.

Description: Labels can be used to group measurements together and can be used to selective forward measurements using sinks and forwarders. A measurement can have multiple labels.
