Download Options
After selecting the correct combination:
- Click Download to retrieve the package via your browser
- Click Copy URI to copy the direct download link
- Click Metadata to retrieve the meta data file
The copied URI can be used with tools such as wget to download the package on a remote machine.
Using the copied URI is recommended for remote servers without a browser.
The metadata file is used for collector updates (manually or automatically) and serves as a verification mechanism to ensure package integrity. It cannot be used to upgrade Factry Historian itself.
Collector Updates
Collectors are updated by downloading a newer version from the Downloads page and installing it on the machine where the collector is running.
For step-by-step instructions, see Updating a collector manually
For automatic update configuration and best practices, see Updating a collector automatically
Best Practice
- Use the Stable channel for production
- Verify OS and architecture before downloading
- Use the copied URI for automated or remote installations
