Installing a failover collector
This page explains how to install and configure a failover collector for an existing collector.
Step 1: Install the failover collector
- Follow the standard steps to install a collector on the target machine.
- Complete the initial registration so that the collector appears in the Historian.
Step 2: Configure failover
- Go to the Collectors page in the Historian.
- Select the collector you want to configure failover for.
- Toggle the Failover switch.
- A new panel called Failover Settings will appear under the Settings tab.
- Configure the failover collector using the collector failover settingscollector failover settings.
Notes
- Make sure the failover collector is installed on a separate machine from the primary collector for redundancy.
- Verify that the failover collector has network access to the Historian and the same configuration as the primary collector where needed.
